The problem is that despite the fact that the huge numbers of illegal immigrants are snarling traffic, and raising housing prices with their numbers, the $48 million they are adding to the cost of running the schools amounts to a measly $67 per Denver citizen, or $268 per family of four.
And yet, this is changing the character of Colorado in ways that are making that state much less attractive than it used to be.
